MIKE BRIZENDINE
Assistant Academy Director
Mike Brizendine is the Assistant Director of the Hokie Soccer Academy since 2004. He is also the top Assistant Soccer Coach at Virginia Tech. Mike is a 1999 graduate of James Madison University. As a player at JMU, Mike played on two teams that went to the NCAA Elite Eight Tournament. His coaching background includes stints at Ferrum College and Bridgewater College where he was the assistant and head coach respectively. CHASE HARRISON
Assistant Academy Director
Chase Harrison has rejoined our Academy Staff for the 2008 summer sessions. Chase was a standout goalkeeper for the Hokies from 2002-2005. He broke every goalkeeping record at VT and led his teams to two NCAA tournaments. Chase will be overseeing the Goalkeeper Academies. However, due to his professional contract with the Rochester Rhinos of the USL Division 1, he cannot be at every session this summer. Coach Harrison’s training plans will still be used for all Goalkeeping Academies.

Academy Trainers and Medical Supervision
The Hokie Soccer Academy employs nationally licensed trainers
and medical doctors to supervise and monitor all campers at the
Academy and day camps. A trainer will be present at all of the
field sessions and in the residence halls day and night. We have
medical policies in place to provide immediate care for all of
our participants.
A special arrangement with Gatorade allows the Hokie Soccer Academy to supply every camper with Gatorade enhanced drinks and water during all sessions.
